I
would like to welcome you to the NCISA web site – one
of the tools we utilize to maintain contact with our membership
throughout the world. It is here you can find pertinent information,
notification of planned events and, in the Member’s Only
section, information about our members.
The
Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), composed of a relatively
small group of professionals, is the Department of the Navy's
primary law enforcement arm whose mission is to protect and serve
the Navy
and Marine Corps as a worldwide federal law enforcement organization.
Those who served in the NCIS (and its predecessor organizations
of Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and Naval Investigative
Service
(NIS)), began in 1981 to pull together the names of former Special
Agents in the form of a directory. This led to establishing a
more formal ARNISSA (Association of Retired Naval Investigative
Service Special Agents) in about 1983. In May 2009, the name
ARNISSA was changed to NCISA to associate the name of the
retired organization more closely with NCIS.
The
purpose of the Association is to maintain a fraternal, social,
and professional
relationship
among
the membership. In doing so, the NCISA performs the function
of helping to preserve the bonds between former NCIS personnel
which
were developed during our active service to the NCIS. Through
various links within our site, you can learn about our history,
see some
of the things which are going on, and what is planned for the
future. And if you are interested in joining, you can find
that information
here as well as a membership application.
We
are always looking for ways to better our Association and welcome
your thoughts.
Should you have any questions, comments, or suggestions,
please feel free to contact me through our e-mail at ncisamail@yahoo.com.
Thanks
for visiting, and I hope you will find cause to come back on
a regular basis.
